Childrens Messages | Summer Reading Challenge

I want to make at least one book but I can’t think of any ideas. When I am writing a book or try to write one I think more about the mystery’s that could happen instead of the good vocabulary. Does this happen to anyone?

Hello every other BookWorm! I am a girl of your age (maybe) and I have the dream of becoming an author. My friends and family inspire me over the years for my stories, and I love writing books based on games me and my best friends forever play at school. Recently, me and my friends invented a game set in the Ice Age, (not the movie, the period of time) and I’m writing the story of it. Here is the start:

Enya Spice lay on her bed of leaves and fur, her tangled, red hair spread around her. She was wrapped up extremely warm from the raging cold outside; she even had a polar-bear fur gilet over her polar-bear fur gilet! Notebook in hand, she began writing about that day:

How to make an origami swan/crane:
A traditional Japanese project, rewritten by me.

1: Take a square piece of paper. Origami paper is best, but normal paper is also perfect. Fold diagonals and turn over.

2: Fold in half both ways.

3: Now for the tricky bit. Hold the square like a diamond shape. Fold the corners either side down to the bottom, then the top corner down on top of them. You should have a sort of pop-up diamond shape, just smaller now.

4: Fold each side into the middle, and the top down completely. Unfold and pull up the very bottom corner, to make a 3D model. Squash and fold to the middle, to make it flat again.

5: Turn over and repeat step 4.

6: Take the corners of the new model and inside valley fold them up. Then, inside mountain fold one side. Fold down the wings, pull them out and there you have it!

Last year at school we made paper cranes, but we didn’t finish them because the teacher was so confused. We didn’t even get them back! Thank you for the instructions. I’ll be able to make one at home now!

Ah, that’s good. Sorry you didn’t get to make them at school! Did you know, Japanese legend has it if you make a thousand of them, you get a wish! It has actually happened before! Sorry if the instructions are a little bit complicated. I tried to explain them in as easy a way as possible, but it must be slightly difficult. I have been practising for over a year, and practice makes perfect! :-)

Hello! First of all sorry if this is a bit too long I(I mean way to long) but these are my answers and I hope you have fun reading them.

1. I would have a magic carpet that flies because since I was a kid I have wanted to fly and it was like a goal I wanted to achieve in my life.

2. One eye because of course it would look creepy but if I had two noses I would have to blow my nose twice as much when I have a cold.

3. I would see a firework display because I personally do not like concerts and secondly I love to hear the loud noise of them and look at their striking colours in the sky.

4. I would eat candy because I personally don’t like doughnuts (I am sorry if this offends some people) they are a bit too sticky to me.

5. I would have a flying pencil because I believe tennis balls already fly when you hit them with a bat and who wouldn’t love a flying pencil?

6. I would be in my pyjamas (in this case my fluffy ones) because I feel like when I am in a onesie my feet can’t breathe. (I don’t like socks but I still wear them if you were wondering)

I liked the questions and I am very sorry again if this is a bit too long.

Eska sat on her window sill and gazed at the night sky which was peppered with shimmering gold stars. The moon was ghostly white and the iridescent blue and green night sky made it stand out. A calm river reflected the moon and shook happily. The sky was clear and a raven glided towards Eska. It’s beady black eyes were like a rippling river shimmering in the sun. It’s plumage blended into the dark sky but the feathers had a shimmer to all the bleak blackness. Eska wondered, she thought about the jet black raven and the iridescent night sky as well as the ghostly white moon but she never thought about the problems that awaited her In the future.
