Yes, I have, actually! I went to the Lake District earlier this year, which was amazing, and I also went to Amsterdam for a day. Have you been anywhere interesting?

WOW! I love the lake district- I actually go there every year! The mountains are SO beautiful – did you walk any of them? Amsterdam also sounds cool- what did you do there?
Really?! OMG, you are so lucky if you get to go there every year, it’s so beautiful!! (I especially loved how many trees there were there :D) We mostly walked around the Lake Windermere area; have you ever been there?
Amsterdam was lovely! We mostly walked around, as everything was quite expensive, but we did get to see Anne Frank’s Secret Annexe (from outside), which was amazing!!
I know! I’m actually going NEXT WEEK, so I’m SO excited! I especially love the mountains- I live in a pretty flat area of the country, so when we’re driving up the motorway and suddenly there’s mountains everyone gets very excited! I just love them- they’re SO beautiful! Do you live in a mountain-y area?

I know that feeling; I also live in a quite flat area, (though there are some hills a short distance away) so whenever my family and I go to a place with many mountains, it just feels incredible!!
I agree- mountains are one of the most beautiful natural monuments that exist. :D

Sure! I’ll start from the beginning… One day my parents were looking through affordable short holidays abroad, and they stumbled upon a very reasonably priced ferry trip to Amsterdam! (Return trip included) It was such a good deal that we decided to go the very next month, and we packed our bags. I had never actually stayed overnight on a boat before, so I was super excited! Our cabin was rather small (but cosy!) and we had to bring all our own food (restaurant prices onboard being WAY too high), but I loved being on a boat so much. :D However, I only realised that we had just five hours to explore Amsterdam (before we had to get back on the ferry to go home) when we actually disembarked! I remember feeling so surprised! XD
Anyways, we had a simply lovely time in Amsterdam, walking along its narrow streets and canals, with a cone of hot fries in one hand, and a stroopwaffel in the other… :D I just really wish we could have stayed longer than five hours; I loved it so much there!!
Oh ok wow that’s so funny! I definitely relate to restaurant prices being SO high- service station prices too, on the motorway, are awful! I’ve never been on an overnight ferry, but I will next year when we go to France- I’m so excited! And also, I LOVE stroopwafel!!! We have a friend who always gives us some and it is actually the best thing!
I know! In airports as well, prices are ABYSMAL!! I guess the companies who run these places know that they can charge those prices, since people will always pay if there’s no other options…
Oh wow, that sounds amazing!! I hope you have a great time, and that the weather will be better for you than it was for my family when we went to Amsterdam! XD (It was freezing and drizzly pretty much the whole time lol)

I LOVE stroopwafels too!! Wait, are the stroopwafels you get homemade? The ones I get are store bought, from Home Bargains. XD
