Yes! That book’s brilliant- have you seen the animated version on BBC iPlayer?
I recommend the Cogheart series by Peter Bunzl. The books are Cogheart, Moonlocket, Skycircus and Shadowsea. [That is the order of the books].

Wait. You’re bored bored bored bored bored bored bored bored bored!?
Yup!
Hey, have you seen
Empress Magnolia Cuckoo Clock
Cause we post lots to each other
And I think you two were in touch
Yeah, we were in touch…
Oh sorry, you were looking for me!
Well I’m here now
So don’t be bored bored bored bored bored bored bored bored bored!
I’m not any more
Cause I’m going on holiday!
And that won’t be boring
So, hip hip hooray!
I’m so excited for you
Remember to post
And where are you going?
If I knew you, I’d miss you loads
Well, I’m back now!
I’m back, back here
I’ll tell you about my holiday
It was a very nice time of the year
I went to England
From where I live in Wales
I stayed by a beach
Even though it was cold!
I went to the arcade
And went on a bus trip
I stayed in a hotel
It was all, like, drip!
Wow, mate
Sounds legit!
And listen up
I’m wriggling at where I sit!
Sad thing is
Now you’re home
We’ve got no chance of bumping into each other
England is my home!
But I love to chat to you
About my day
Back where I live
And this is the best place to play!
Imagine if
We had actually seen
Each other on our trips
How cool would that have been!?
Anyway, I’ll tell you
A bit about Wales
And how cool it is
Even when it hails
The Dragon on our flag
There from the beginning
And our daffodils!
The flower that’s winning
Sure, we have rain
But don’t feel the pain!
Just relax on the beach
Let the sea lap at your feet
Or if you’d prefer
Take a city trip!
Go shopping in Cardiff
And plenty of benches to sit!
Oh and also, I’ll be coming
To England again!
when I visit… LONDON
I really can’t wait!
I’m sure you’ve already
Had your holiday
I wish we could have met
I’d shout hooray!
But even if us two met
How would I know it’s you?
We might not even say hi
Coz we’d be strangers, boo hoo!
Well, all we can do is dream
Of being friends in real life
We haven’t spoken in ages
But I know our friendship’s for life!
Wow you’re back
I can’t believe this, it’s like a dream
me talking to you
and you talking to me!
I have so many questions
Where how when why!?
Please please please
Can you reply?
I’m replying now,
Because I’ve missed you so much!
I mean, I might’ve grown up a bit
But I still want to stay in touch!
Because chatting to you
Brings back memories
Of when we were a bit younger
And chatted as we pleased!
I’m older, different now
But in my heart I’m still the same
So I’m still your friend!
And I will be all these days!
Same here
It’s been so long
We’ve grown up so fast
How about one last song?
Good idea,
My dear friend!
Now come on,
Let’s rap to the end!
Just like old times
The good old days
Oh hey I can see my cat
She says hey
Oh, hey, your cat!
Cats are so sweet!
I wish I could have one
But they make my dad sneeze!
(He’s got allergies!)
Aw so sad
But my cat says hi
She also says she’s hungry
And wants to eat some….pie?
