I’v readed the girl of ink and stars

Madam Boadicea Dalmatian

Nature is ready for Christmas,
The trees are leaden with gifts
Holly and ivy and mistletoe berries
And the boughs are snowy with drifts
Robin is looking for dinner
So leave out some birdseed for his tea
And sit by your fire happy with knowing
That he will not be hungry
Foxes pace through the white blanket
The first to leave footprints on the land
And the children go skating on ice-ponds
Laughing, hand in hand
