I think it’s great for a start, and that next you should and the conversation with her sister! Maybe she has a secret to reveal? Maybe something else happens outside? Maybe it’s just normal and something happens after? It seems like it will be great!

Hey yeah, actually I do have an idea that I had trouble writing about. I had an idea about a girl whose twin went missing after birth and her parents died in a plane crash when she was small. Then a mermaid takes her through a portal under the sea when she is at the beach and she ends up in the magic world. Then it turns out her and her twin are the guardians of magic and they need to save the world from evil . Then some big adventure happens that I could tell you about but I’ll just see if you want to write this story yet. Thank you!

As she slumped down in the uncomfortable plastic chair, Anna struggled to keep her eyes open in the hot classroom as Mr Nox, her maths teacher, droned on and on about the algebra involved in finding the perimeter of an irregular polygon.
Suddenly, the school bell rang and students poured out of the classrooms, running towards the half term holiday leaving Anna trudging through the vast corridor. By the time she’d made it to the door, the playground was deserted apart from one person standing in the corner next to the bleak brick wall.
“Hi Grandma,” muttered Anna, walking towards her with her head down.
“Hi!” She swung her leg over one of the two bicycles that were propped up against the wall. “Shall we go?”
They pedalled in silence, stopping once to drink some water and have a quick break. Eventually, they made it to a big brick house with a grumpy tabby cat pacing back and forth across the driveway. When he saw them, he sulkily padded over and allowed them to stroke under his chin, although Anna automatically winced when he came near. She’d been living at her Grandma’s house since her parents died in a plane crash, and every week the cat had made his mark on her at least once.
After safely making her way past, she ran up the stairs to her bedroom and discarded her schoolbag beneath the bed. No school for a week! She felt a shiver of excitement run up her spine and she couldn’t stop a grin spreading across her face.
Anna shielded her face against the howling wind which buffeted her around like a newborn kitten as she followed her Grandma through the back door, heading for the shop round the corner. They both breathed a sigh of relief as they made it inside the small but thankfully wind-proof building. It was nice living on the coast (you could go to the beach whenever you wanted) but it got a little windy at times.
While they put their essentials on the counter, they looked at the weather forecast.
“It should be sunnier tomorrow,” Grandma said as she paid for the items. “Fancy a trip to the beach?”
“Why not?" replied Anna, although their smiles faltered as they stepped out of the door and where swallowed by the swirling mist.
