The name of this book is secret is good. It’s all about 2 kids who for their and your safety have the pseudonyms of Cass (Cassandra) and Max-Ernest. In the book they read a magician’s diary, find a strange Box called a symphony of smells, investigate a mysterious couple belonging to an even more mysterious society called the midnight sun and discover a deadly secret. Also check out the rest of the books in the secret series.

My Secret Diary, Dating, Dancing, Dreams and Dilemmas. It’s sort of a teenager book, because of some of the things in it, but good for probably 12+.
