the shapeshifter series is awesome. there is also the unleashed series which is follow on. if you like that sort of stuff you could try the Medusa project by Sophie McKenzie it’s a bit like that

I would recommend to a nine year old girl; the mum-minder, any of the dork diaries series and the bed and breakfast star (which I loved when I was nine!)
