Have you tried Ruby Redfort books and Geek Girl as they are aimed at teenagers.
what about diary and the wimpy kid!
I have just read “Salt to the Sea” by Ruta Sepetys which is amazing! I would definitely recommend it to teens. You can see my review on it.
Also “The Selection” is amazing for teenage girls

They are very good for advanced readers as they use a complex range of vocabulary. They can drag a bit but when they get to the conflict the speed picks up. Always start with the first. I read them when I was 9 and loved them.
