My favourite book this summer was the graveyard book by NEIL GAIMEN. I thought this book was dark and very gripping from the moment I started reading it. It is about a boy named Bod, who was raised up in a graveyard by ghosts, after a man named Jack, who in this book is referred to as “The man Jack” murders his family. The tension is always there with the threat of danger outside the graveyard, which he is forbidden to leave as “The man Jack” never killed Bod and will continue to try to do so until Bod is dead. NEIL GAIMAN should be given credit for his other books, most well known of all is “CORALINE”

Coraline review
I thought this book was unique and dark in a very sinister way. It captured a few key elements of childhood and included them in Coraline’s character. Some of these include; a longing for adventure, this feeling is what drove her to find the door which lead to the other side. Other aspects include ignorance, she immediately trusted the alternate parents on the other side.
