Countess Majorca Bacon-slicer
Well done buddy
Director Wanda Wellington
Thanks! Did you do an entry?
Countess Majorca Bacon-slicer
No
Director Wanda Wellington
Well, you’ve got to be in it to win it!
Countess Majorca Bacon-slicer
Yeah of course
Director Wanda Wellington
It’s quite a good thing to say, but for some things, it doesn’t make sense.
Countess Majorca Bacon-slicer
You going to high school
Director Wanda Wellington
At what age do you go to high school?
Countess Majorca Bacon-slicer
12 or 11 or 13
Director Wanda Wellington
Well, I would be in high school, then, but I’m homeschooled, so no.
Countess Majorca Bacon-slicer
Oh
Director Wanda Wellington
Yeah… It’s a bit funny sometimes… You feel a bit left out.
Countess Majorca Bacon-slicer
Yeah
Director Wanda Wellington
Do you go to school?
Countess Majorca Bacon-slicer
Yeah
Director Wanda Wellington
Oh. Do you ever wish you were homeschooled? Sometimes, I do wish I went to school, because then I’d have friends to play with, gossip with, y’know.
Countess Majorca Bacon-slicer
Yeah
Director Wanda Wellington
But then I think, Well, there’s all of you on here, and my family, so I’m never too lonely!
Countess Majorca Bacon-slicer
Yeah
Director Wanda Wellington
Exactly. That sums it up perfectly!
Countess Majorca Bacon-slicer
I personally would love to be homeschooled, because you’d get to have work more set for your level. Most of what I do at school is way to easy!
Madam Wanda Bungalow
Yes. That is exactly what I love most of all about being homeschooled! Your lessons are completely personalised to you!
Countess Majorca Bacon-slicer
I have some friends who are homeschooled who I know really well, and they are probably some of the kindest, smartest people I know.
Madam Wanda Bungalow
Yes, I bet they are! Homeschooled kids generally get a bad rap because people think they don’t “socialise” whatever that is supposed to mean! Of course, homeschooled kids might not have so many friends as kids who go to school, but they’re still very friendly, and they have (or at least I have) a very strong bond with their families! I’m pro-homeschooling all the way!
Countess Majorca Bacon-slicer
Mmm, yes, all the homeschooled kids I know have a VERY strong bone with their families! I’ve always wanted to be homeschooled- you just get more time to do stuff, and more flexibility with what you learn!
Madam Wanda Bungalow
Exactly!! I really love doing history, maths, languages, and coding, so I do a lot on those topics, but if I was in school, I’d end up doing a bunch of other topics that I don’t much like, such as physics!
Countess Majorca Bacon-slicer
Fun! Yes, I enjoy maths, chemistry, drama and food tech (cooking) but I have to do all the subjects I don’t like a lot as well, which is sad!
Madam Wanda Bungalow
Another thing that’s really good about being homeschooled is that you don’t have to go on holiday during the school holidays! You can get some pretty decent prices for off-peak trips! AND you can get the afternoon off learning sometimes, if you’re going on a shopping trip! :-D
Countess Majorca Bacon-slicer
Ooh nice. Yes that would be lovely getting to go on holiday when you’re basically the only one there. When we go on holidays there’s always about a million other tourists in the same place lol!!!
Madam Wanda Bungalow
Yeah, it’s great!!! Honestly, I really can’t imagine ever going to school. I think I’d feel a bit lonely, because of missing my family, and a little trapped! (I get claustrophobic easily!)
Countess Majorca Bacon-slicer
Oh ok fair enough. Yes I can tell you the corridors get very crowded and very smelly!!
Madam Wanda Bungalow
Ugh, I’d hate it!! especially as it would mean I couldn’t read so much as I do now!! I’d have to drop so many of my hobbies..
Countess Majorca Bacon-slicer
Yes school can be pretty awful sometimes. I mean, I’m not one of those people who’s always like, ‘Urgh I hate school it’s such a waste of time,’ but I also think school could definitely be better. We don’t really get a lot of time for reading as well- there’s only 1 reading lesson every 2 weeks!
Madam Wanda Bungalow
I mean, Yes, school’s not a complete waste of time, (you do learn a lot of things!) but it’s just really not for me! One thing that I’d really hate is having to wear the same uniform as everyone else, and not being able to wear what I like to wear! That would be awful!
You only get ONE reading lesson per TWO weeks? How would I survive?! And do you get to choose which book to read, or does the teacher tell you which one to read?
Countess Majorca Bacon-slicer
Yes, uniform is definitely one of the things I enjoy less about school, especially secondary school where there’s higher collars, and ties.
And I know it is pretty awful, but thankfully I get lots of time at home. And the higher sets (So me) get to pick their own books, but for some reason they think it better that lower sets don’t. Don’t ask why, I don’t understand either!
Madam Wanda Bungalow
Ugh, ties?? I hate ties so much!! I am now extremely glad I don’t go to school!
That’s good, at least you can pick your own book! :-) That’s kind of odd, do the teachers just think that littler kids will pick board books, or something? Weird!
Countess Majorca Bacon-slicer
I know, ties are the bane of my life. They’re so uncomfortable !
And yes, I don’t know what the teachers think they will pick. Surely you will enjoy reading more if you read the sort of books you like?!? Who knows. I’m glad I can choose my own books, anyway.
Madam Wanda Bungalow
I know, why are they part of the school uniform??
I know, totally! Everyone has a different taste in literature, and reading’s more fun if you can read what you like to read!
Countess Majorca Bacon-slicer
Yes, its really annoying because in lots of schools they’re optional! (Although I don’t know why anyone would choose to wear a tie!)
Yes, totally! For example, I have lots of good friends who love manga and comic books, but I definitely prefer longer, older, adventure books! I just find comics really hard to read.
Madam Wanda Bungalow
Personally, I think you shouldn’t make kids wear ties! You can choose to wear them later on in life, for formal events, and work, or things like that, but for school? I just don’t see the point!
Me too! I love old adventure stories, or really any old stories in general, as they really have more depth than any comics I know of! And yes, I also find comics hard to understand sometimes! :-P
Countess Majorca Bacon-slicer
Yes, older stories are SO the best! So many of my friends say they hate long books because they take too long, or have strange words, but for me that’s what makes it interesting! I think they’re so much more original, and deep.
Madam Wanda Bungalow
I never even thought about that before!
Madam Wanda Bungalow
Well, I’ve never really thought about going on holiday at the same time as everyone else, either! I just can’t imagine it!
Countess Majorca Bacon-slicer
Yes, it is really annoying when you want to go on a ride or something but there’s seemingly a million other people who also want a go!
Madam Wanda Bungalow
Oof, yes, that is VERY annoying! But I guess even if you are homeschooled, you can’t avoid the queues or the big crowds all the time!
Countess Majorca Bacon-slicer
Yes, there isn’t some sort of homeschooling priority pass which means you could just avoid massive queues and crowds all the time! I think if there was probably a lot more people would homeschool! 8)
Madam Wanda Bungalow
LOL, that is so true!!! I think a big reason why so few kids are homeschooled is because a lot of parents don’t even know it’s an option! You really don’t see it mentioned much at all!
Countess Majorca Bacon-slicer
No, you don’t, I guess because school families tend not to be able to get to know the homeschool familes, as they don’t really meet. I think that’s really sad, because the homeschool familes I know are some of the nicest people I’ve ever met!
Madam Wanda Bungalow
Yes, that is very true. I guess homeschool families tend to go to activities, and things like that during school hours, and school families tend to go to things after school hours, which is probably why they don’t meet too much!
And I know, I wish more people could see that homeschooled kids are just as friendly as kids that go to school!
Countess Majorca Bacon-slicer
Yes, that probably is the case.
I only know the homeschooled people I know (I guess you’re the exception, but I don’t REALLY know you) from my church- otherwise I would never have met them, which is an odd thought!
Madam Wanda Bungalow
Yeah, it’s sad! In fact, I have a theory that homeschooled kids can be more polite than kids who go to school!
(You’re actually the only not homeschooled kid that I’ve talked to for longer than five minutes, which is kinda funny!)
Countess Majorca Bacon-slicer
I wish I knew you cause you’re so nice
Director Wanda Wellington
Mmm, me too!
Madam Wanda Bungalow
Are you actually the owner of the competition
Empress Pixie Armchair
Yes of course I am
Madam Sapphire Bucket

Countess Majorca Bacon-slicer
Great!
Senorita Rose Possum
The best
Empress Pixie Armchair
Why are so many books the same? There should be this whole new book genre for books where someone realises they’re magic and then goes to this school for other magical kids. And then the main almost always turns out to be destined to defeat this baddie.
Officer Pixie Squirrel
Star Reviewer
I love those books! Especially with romance in! I agree that so many books are the same now, it’s so boring!!
Countess Majorca Bacon-slicer
I love books that contain romance and an other genre
Anonymous
Yeah, I love books about romance with princesses and castles in them! And also magical schools.
Countess Majorca Bacon-slicer
Yea like Twin Crowns, the school of good and evil or kiera cass’s the selection!
Anonymous
Yeah, I’ve read (and loved!) the first two, but what is “kiera cass’s the selection”? Have you read Pennyroyal Academy, or Hotel Magnifique? They’re both really good fantasy romances!
Countess Majorca Bacon-slicer
The selection is a book series about 35 girls who are competing against each other to marry a prince and it is written by Kiera Cass. I haven’t read them but they look really good and they will put on my to be read list!
Anonymous
That sounds great! I’ll look them up, and see if my library has them! Thanks!
Countess Majorca Bacon-slicer
I love those books and action-coloured novels
