I’m currently reading The Stories Grandma Forgot (and How I Found Them) by Nadine Aisha Jassat. It has a lot to do with dementia and Alzheimer’s which is something my great grandma has and my family deals with daily. I definitely recommend it to anyone who is interested in this or maybe has an older family member who can be a little forgetful sometimes.

What are all of you reading at the moment?

Merry

Dame Pinky Pumpernickel

Well I’m reading captain underpants and dog man you might think it’s babyish 😔😔😔😔

Officer Pansy Peanut-butter

No not at all! I’ve read that too and loved it!

Dame Pinky Pumpernickel

I’m reading (the boy who got) Accidentally Famous

Princess Angel Squirrel

Wow sounds soo interesting!

Dame Pinky Pumpernickel

Thx

Princess Angel Squirrel

My sister is very forgetful no offence

Officer Pansy Peanut-butter

Oh… well I don’t think your sister has dementia though because generally it is older people who have dementia but in some very rare cases children do get childhood dementia so I can’t be sure for certain but I’m pretty sure she is just young and doesn’t remember things very well yet or she just doesn’t have a great memory!

Dame Pinky Pumpernickel

Three men in a boat!

Countess Majorca Bacon-slicer

Nice!

Dame Pinky Pumpernickel

What are you reading?

Countess Majorca Bacon-slicer

I’m half polish so I can read books in polish too and right now I’m reading Mazurscy w Podróży diamentowa gorączka. :) it’s about a family who go on a road trip and bump into a bunch of thiefs on the way.

Dame Pinky Pumpernickel

Sounds good! Unfortunately, I can’t speak Polish, so I can’t read it. I know English, Spanish, French, Italian, and a bit of Latin!

Countess Majorca Bacon-slicer

Wow that’s a lot! I speak a lot of languages too! You are home schooled too right? We have a lot in common! And we both love animals! And when I was reading the reviews for The monkey who fell from the future I saw that you have read it too! Did you enjoy it?

Dame Pinky Pumpernickel

Yeah, I really liked it! I quite like that type of book! (Mind you, I kinda like all types of books!) Yes, I am homeschooled, and I do languages on Duolingo! We DO have so much in common! What are all the languages you speak?

Countess Majorca Bacon-slicer

I sent a reply but I’m not sure if it sent

Dame Pinky Pumpernickel

It sent! Wait for a reply!

Countess Majorca Bacon-slicer

I sent another message but it didn’t get accepted sadly but I understand why. Oh well. It was worth a try but I did have a feeling it wouldn’t! At least we can chat on here!

Dame Pinky Pumpernickel

Yeah, it happens to me a lot too, it’s quite annoying!

Countess Majorca Bacon-slicer

SAME I like all types of books too! I also do languages on Duolingo! I speak English, Polish, Urdu, Hindi, Spanish, BSL, Japanese, German, Finnish and Navajo. I really want to learn Portuguese and Italian too but at the moment I’ve been super busy and I don’t think I can take on more languages than my age at the moment XD! But definitely in the future! Polish and English are the languages I’m most confident in for sure!

Dame Pinky Pumpernickel

Oh, wow!!! You’re learning so many languages ! I’m most confident in English and Spanish, but I’m okay in French! What’s your age? (You don’t have to reply if you don’t want to) I’m twelve. I’d love to learn Portuguese eventually, as I’d love to move there when I’m older, but I’ve got too many obligations XD! To improve your Spanish, I really recommend you watch videos on Dreaming Spanish!

Countess Majorca Bacon-slicer

I’m fourteen! I used to take part in the summer reading challenge when I was younger at the library but I’m not allowed to at the library anymore so I take part online because it’s really fun! Oooo thanks i will definitely check that out!

Dame Pinky Pumpernickel

Yeah, this summer is the last one I’ll be able to do, sadly. But I can still do it on here! You’re welcome! I hope you enjoy it!

Countess Majorca Bacon-slicer

Wow that sounds like a awesome book! I have been going through my books I read last year and re-reading them which is so fun! I feel like I have a completely different perspective on books now I am older and am re-reading them. I really draw something different out.

Anonymous

Wow soo cool! I love re-reading books too! It really does feel like you draw something completely different out in your head!

Dame Pinky Pumpernickel

Yessss! For sure! They also mean so much more when your just a bit older – you can totally appreciate them wayyyy more.

Anonymous

Dame Pinky Pumpernickel

Baroness Candyfloss Aardvark

Ooo those sound interesting I need to check them out!

Dame Pinky Pumpernickel

Hi everyone if anybody likes Sci-Fi and Dystopian Fiction books that are futuristic and adventurous then I definitely recommend :

- North and the Only One by Vashti Hardy
- The Monkey who fell from the Future by Ross Welford

I just finished both of those and I loved them, now I’m onto my third book for the 2024 summer reading challenge!

Merry

Dame Pinky Pumpernickel

I’m not sure what sci finis

Officer Pansy Peanut-butter

Science fiction is basically books set in a different word or the future or outer space for example on another planet. There might be robots or aliens or cars from the future that can fly!

Dame Pinky Pumpernickel

Really l am on my 10th book?

Queen July Sudoku

Don’t be mean @Queen July Sudoku everyone reads at different paces.

Anonymous

I totally agree!

Countess Majorca Bacon-slicer

Oh cool but you might have started the challenge earlier or you read books that are not as thick. Mine are close to 400 pages each. I’m also a soon to be international athlete and don’t have as much time to read because of training. :)

Dame Pinky Pumpernickel

International athlete of what?

Queen July Sudoku

Equestrian Vaulting which is basically gymnastics but on horses.

Dame Pinky Pumpernickel

Ooh good luck if your doing a competition as an athlete! I’m not too good at sports, so I read books instead!

Baroness Candyfloss Aardvark

Thank you!

Dame Pinky Pumpernickel

Actually l read all sorts of more than 400 pages book list me some and l will have finished it last summer

Queen July Sudoku

Please don’t be mean im only on my 4th book

Baroness Candyfloss Aardvark

I like those authors!

Countess Majorca Bacon-slicer

I’m not overly into sci-fi but a good book i have read which is adventurous and set in another world is the Northern Lights! (the 3rd book is very sad though)

Baroness Candyfloss Aardvark

Ooo I will need to check that book out for sure! Thanks
