Welcome to the Winter Mini Challenge 2019!

We’ve teamed up with Oxford Children’s Books to bring you some extra special reading rewards inspired by the most IN-SLED-IBLE book, Pugs of the Frozen North, by Philip Reeve and Sarah McIntyre!

Sounds great! How do I take part?

Taking part in the Winter Mini Challenge is simple: all you have to do is read three books between Monday 2 December 2019 and Monday 13 January 2020

Once you’ve read a book, add it to your website profile and write a review to let everyone know what you thought.

Add 3 books (or more) to complete the Winter Mini Challenge!

There’s a brand new Pugs certificate AND a limited edition virtual badge for everyone who completes the Mini Challenge:

We even have a handy Reading Record to help you keep track of your winter reads. CLICK HERE to get yours!

Important stuff

The Winter Mini Challenge starts on Monday 2 December 2019 and finishes on Monday 13 January 2020

You can read any books you like – fact books, fiction, joke books, picture books, eBooks, audio books – the choice is yours!

Read your books and review at least three of them online before the Mini Challenge ends to unlock your rewards.

Just visit your profile page and click the ‘Add a new book now’ button to log your books. You can rate each book out of 5 and write a review to let everyone know what you thought.

Getting started

If you don’t have a profile yet, signing up for one is easy: click the ‘Join in’ button at the top of this page to register for a website account.

If you’re joining us for the first time, you’ll need the email address of a parent or carer handy so we can ask them for permission to create your account.

Downloading your certificate

Once you’ve completed the challenge, go to the Badges & Codes page on your profile. Scroll down the page until you see the Special Badges Box – you will see your Winter Mini Challenge pug badge inside. Click on the badge and it will take you to a page where you can see and save your certificate.
