The brilliant thing about the Summer Reading Challenge is that you can choose any library book you like to count towards your rewards.

Perhaps you’re a fan of epic fantasy adventures, or spine-tingling thrillers.
You might like books full of fascinating facts, or maybe graphic novels are more your style.
Audio books and e-books borrowed from your library count too!

When there are so many amazing stories to choose from, it can be hard to know where to start.
Why not ask your librarian or library volunteers for their recommendations? They’re brilliant at helping you find books you’ll enjoy based on the things you like.

Check out the Space Chase book collection to see some suggestions.
All the books there have been chosen as top reads for this summer by librarians and children just like you.

If you like picture books or shorter stories with amazing illustrations, take a look at Part 1 of the collection

If you’re into books with longer chapters, then Part 2 of the collection is for you

You can also see what books other children recommend by using the amazing Book Sorter!

Every time someone adds a book to their Summer Reading Challenge profile, it also gets fed into the Book Sorter.

Click on the different parts of the Book Sorter machine to choose the types of books you’re into, and it will give you suggestions for other reads you might like.
Mix it up a little by hitting the Surprise Me button – give it a try!

Whichever way you choose your books, have fun reading them!

If you’re not enjoying a book that you’ve started, put it down and try something else!
That’s one of the reasons why libraries are so great. You can experiment with your reading and try new stuff, and you can read all these books for free!
