For this year’s Summer Reading Challenge, we worked with the National Deaf Children’s Society to create our hero – Willow the forest ranger!

Willow loves rock-climbing and exploring Wilderville Woods with her friend, Hazel the red squirrel. She also uses British Sign Language. You can learn how to spell the alphabet in British Sign Language using this poster. Or, pick up some tips on talking to your deaf friends and classmates here.

You can also check out these amazing signed stories.

Elephant and the Lost Blanket is an original NDCS picture book perfect for younger readers.

Ninja Phoenix and DJ and The Gloopy Glop is an amazing animated story written by Dylan (aged 10)
