You could always try these: The Famous Five, How To Train Your Dragon or The Last Wild if you like adventure. Their all really good books.
Have you read Diary of a Wimpy kid? Its so good.
Ophelia by Lisa Klein is a really good book but it might be a bit complex for younger ones so it depends on your age. 11+ is good
