(To Princess Ursula Possum, and maybe Director Jewel Turkey)
Hi!
Have you read “Chronicles of Ancient Darkness” by Michelle Paver? The first book is called “Wolf Brother”.
It’s set in prehistoric hunter-gatherer times, and it’s about a 13 year old boy called Torak, who has been raised on his own by his father without ever meeting the other clans.

At the beginning of the book his father is killed by a bear with a demon living inside it.
All his father has time to tell him is that he must find the Mountain of the World Spirit, which no human has ever been able to reach.
Torak now has to finally find the clans to get help – but this means finding out why he was always kept apart.

On his journey to defeat the demon and the evil Mages (The Soul Eaters) that created it, Torak makes friends with Wolf, who becomes his pack brother.

This story is quite scary at times but in a way that kept me completely glued to the book. The way that Michelle Paver describes parts of the story from the animals’ point of view is magical.

This book has adventure, friendships, magic and spooks!
