Grandad's Bench

It’s a bit of a sad book but I like how the boy got to use the workbench.

Although I don't like sad stories, I loved this book. It is about a bit a d his grandad, and when the grandad falls ill, the boy wants to cheer him up and starts to build a bench.

I didn’t like the part when Grandad died, but in the end it was really happy. My favourite character was Jake, because he’s the main character. I liked the part when they Mum and Jake went to sit on the bench after school. I would recommend this book to others.

It was a very good book! My favourite part was when Luke and his Grandad were building things in Luke's Grandad's shed with all the neatly placed tools. It was very sad when one day the ice cream van was near the house Luke went to get him and his Grandad an ice cream Grandad fell to the ground so when Luke realises that Grandad was nowhere to be seen Luke ran straight up the hill to see Grandad laid on the floor. In the distance, Luke could hear an ambulance siren coming his way. My favourite character is Luke because at the end Luke and his mum buy a bench and Luke makes a sign saying GRANDAD'S BENCH. I hope anybody that reads this book will know even when someone has passed away they are still with you, In your heart.

This is a good book, but a little sad as Jake's Grandad does die and it made me a bit emotional and reminded me about when my granny died.However, it tells of how Jake keeps his Grandad's memory alive by using the skills he learnt from him to make a bench with his name on it.I would recommend it to anyone who has lost someone as it has good advice.

I enjoyed this book because it was a nice ending even though it was sad at the beginning. I liked the grandad the best and I liked his bench. It felt like I was in the story and I was sat on the bench. I would recommend this book to my friends.

I like this book very much.i like the jake character in this book because he loved his grandad very much.I like when his grandad has died.He made the bench with the name plate of his grandad.I recommend this book to read everyone.it’s really interesting story
