A Seaside Rescue
Hannah Whitty, Tracey Corderoy
Perfect for reading together or for children who are just starting to read alone. Filled with gorgeous illustrations. Willow Valley is a very special place. Nestled in a hidden valley, trees of all shapes and sizes grew on the rolling green hills and pretty flowers dance in the meadows. Only the animals who live there know their way in and out, but they hardly ever want to leave because they’re having too much fun! Riley the mouse, Starla the badger and Horatio the hedgehog are off to the seaside. They can’t wait to have fun building sandcastles and collecting shells. If only Riley’s boring cousin, Posy, wasn’t coming too! More WILLOW VALLEY stories are available: BIRTHDAY FUN (9781407124742), SPOOKY SLEEPOVER (9781407124759), THE BIG BIKE RACE (9781407124766), HIDE AND SEEK (9781407124773) and ONE SNOWY DAY (9781407134833).
Reviews
the children in the story have a cousin called daisy she doesn't like the beach as much as they do.

This story was about a mouse who went with his grandad to visit his aunt and uncle by the sea. A baby seal had got lost so they looked in caves and out at sea to try and find him. When they were looking in the caves, the tide came in so the mouse’s young and timid cousin Daisy came to rescue them in a rowing boat. They found the seal high up on a rock that they had to climb, even though normally they were not to climb so high. I would recommend this story for 6 year olds as it’s not too scary!

I thought it was ok but I recommend it for people who like fiction stories. It’s about some children going to Riley’s auntie’s house which is one of the children from the story.

It was a bit scary because the friends - Horatio, Stala and Riley - were trapped in a cave. It was a really good book.

I liked this book because it was fun reading about the activities the animals did. For example, fishing in rock pools, hunting in caves and building sandcastle.
