Prickly Tales follows the life of a young but very inquisitive hedgehog who wants to see the world outside his home. This leads him into all kinds of trouble, but luckily for Henry – as the children call him – there is always help at hand, either from his sisters’ other animals or humans. These stories have been written to educate as well as amuse children aged from 4-8, and prevent young and older hedgehogs becoming the victim of human carelessness. Prickly Tales will help make young children aware of the natural wildlife around them and how they can conserve nature and the natural habitat of all wild creatures. Prickly Tales has been read in primary schools where the children have enjoyed the stories – and been very interested in the life of hedgehogs. Author Mary is inspired by different authors; Joe Simpson and Derek Longden in the autobiographical genre, and Katherine Stockett and Maeve Binchy for their works of fiction. The book has been beautifuly illustrated.

The little hedgehog was left behind on a food hunt .What I like about the book is that he finds that when he gets to a point he thinks that the prickly things are his parents.

This was a great book. People who like hedgehogs would like this book. This is also a bit factual, that tells you quite a few facts about hedgehogs. Henry the hedgehog goes on lots of adventures too.
