The four friends find themselves caught up in a plot against one of the rival factions, the Greens. Who is trying to sabotage the charioteers? Could it be an inside job, or someone with a grudge from long ago? And how many men and horses will die before the killer is caught?

When Flavia, Jonathan, Nubia and Lupus are called to Rome to find a race-horse called Sagitta, they are allowed to stay with the Greens. When they find Sagitta almost immediately, Jonathan knows something's not right. Finding mysterious clues and fun races, they try to solve another mystery. I recommend this book.

It was a bit sad how many horses died but other than that i thought it was pretty good. I liked the plot twist were it turned out the beggar man was actually a super rich evil murderer who was killing his old teammates for revenge. I liked how Nubia had a sort of connection with the horses. It was really cool that Flavia, lupus , Johnathon and Nubia got to have a go on the chariots. I'd love to have a go on a chariot, even though it sounded terrifying.
