The Pinhoe Egg
Diana Wynne Jones
Glorious new rejacket of a Diana Wynne Jones favourite, featuring Chrestomanci – now a book with extra bits!
Reviews
The 7th/last book of the series. When Cat goes looking around this new house he finds an egg in the basement and insists he takes it home since he is a 9-lived enchanter. He then takes it home and out hatches a talking griffon! This book is quite funny but also has many plot twists. Definitely would recommend.

This is one of my favourite books, from one of my favourite authors, and a great finale to the Chrestomanci series. Because of the Pinhoe's Gammer, the Pinhoe house had to lie to their own kind, and ended up fighting with the Callows, a fierce relationship similar to the one found in The Magicians of Caprona. At first the Pinhoe Egg seems unrelated to the Pinhoe family, but ends up being the reason that Chrestomanci and Cat figure out all their wrongdoings. The story shows the situation from the eyes of Chrestomanci, the Pinhoes and the Callows. Although the book is rather long, I would recommend this book for readers age 11-13+, or just readers who are ready for the reading journey of their lives.

When Cat Chant discovers an egg in an attic, he is convinced it's a dragon's egg. But when the egg does hatch it causes chaos. Will Cat be able to save it?
