Apparently the ancient Greeks were a rather groovy bunch. The boys didn't start school until they were seven, and girls didn't have to go at all. But it wasn't always so jolly. Readers can discover why girls ran about naked pretending to be bears, who had the world's first flushing toilet and why dedicated doctors tasted their patients' ear wax! History with the nasty bits left in! 2013 is HORRIBLE HISTORIES twentieth anniversary.

I love horrible histories books, they are so funny and educational. It's really a treat to people who like to read, loves funny stuff and also likes history and I'm not just talking about this book, I'm talking about every horrible history book! The only thing I don't like are the quizzes and some boring parts but I highly recommend this book to everyone who likes books and history. The books really live up to its title! The book really explains the history clearly and fun. Terry Deary (the author) knows history so well though I don't think he really listened to history lessons! I also love the comics, pictures and when the characters speak, and I especially love the introduction! It's also so interesting that I've read it again and again so many times and I never get bored of it! This is one of the best books I've ever read in my life so I'd recommend it to everybody!

Amazing, fascinating facts about how the Greeks used to live, whilst making sure there is lots of humour. I would recommend it to other people.

Athenian Greeks were very philosophical. Others(Spartans) preferred war. I would have preferred to live in Athens

I love this book because it has a lot of drama and its kind of like a comic and it has a lot of different history stories but in a more gruesome slightly funny ways rather then just boring history. This is non-fiction I think.
