The Hound Of The Baskervilles is a fiction detective story it is the third novel written by Arthur Conan Doyle and was written in 1901 and published in 1902. This book is about a story of famous detective Sherlock Holmes and his friend Watson set in 1889. This book is about a hound which murders people and is believed to be a magical, spectral monster. However, detective Sherlock Holmes does not believe in such nonsense and tries to hunt the wicked hound down. This book is quite engaging as the reader always wants to find out what happens when a certain event occurs. On the downside, this book is a little bit confusing for me since it uses old vocabulary, follows a twisting story plot and there are multiple events happening at the same time.

I really liked how the mystery slowly unfolded and the twist at the end. Although it is thrilling, it isnt really scary and I would recommend it to someone 10 or above as young children might find it scary and the old fashioned language can be hard to follow.

I thought it was interesting and enjoyable to read Liked all of the characters but Holmes was my favourite because he can tell if there's anything hidden in something. Overall I would recommend it to people who like detective books.

This book was nice but it wasn't my kind of book. I'm not really a fan of crime novels but this one was okay. But I would recommend it to people who like crime stories.

My first Sherlock Holmes book. Sherlock is very intelligent and I like the way he solved the crime (and he is very eccentric-I like that about him).

I think that this book was a fabulous horror classic because it is different to any other book I've read . It was about two gentlemen who descove a hound who kills the family of the Baskervilles they travel to London trying to find out . They then stay in The Baskerville hall and track down this beast. They meet Mrs laura Lyons who tells them about the beast and thanks to Mrs Laura Lyons they killed the beast.

This was an absolutly fantastic book. It was the first Sherlock Holmes book I read. I got it because we were doing Sherlock in English at school and it seemed cool. Now I'm hooked on this brilliant author and character!!

Sir Henry Baskerville, a young man recently arrived from North America to take possession of the estate of his uncle, who's died suddenly, seeks the counsel and protection of Sherlock Holmes. The wealthy Sir Charles apparently died fleeing in terror from an unknown enemy; meanwhile, Sir Henry himself is receiving mysterious threats, perhaps related to a Baskerville family curse involving an innocent maiden, a reprobate ancestor, and a vengeful hound. Holmes, busy with other affairs, sends the faithful Dr. Watson to the country to keep watch over Sir Henry and send back reports, which are soon flowing with accounts of the gloomy moor and surroundings. Among the cast: Dr. Mortimer, the eccentric country practitioner; the enigmatic Barrymores, who have has been servants to the Baskervilles for generations; Stapleton and his ubiquitous butterfly net, not to mention his sister, who quickly becomes Sir Henry's romantic interest. Meanwhile a murderer has escaped from the nearby prison and is loose on the moor, spine-chilling howls are heard at night by sober men, and Watson and Sir Henry are more nervous than they care to admit. Surprise revelations and terrifying moments ensue before Holmes brings things to a generally safe conclusion. so if your are intrested in reading mysterious and detective books , this will be an awesome book!
