Reviews

I love this book , because of how it shows people what it was like in the world wars. My favourite character would be will as he was at first not interested on the going to fight in the war but when he saw his friends , going there he then decided to follow them as he didn't want to miss out on going to war , while his friends did.

This unforgettable mix of fiction and non fiction is brilliantly told. The watercolour illustrations really added to the emotional storyline. I would recommend this book to anybody aged 10 and over so that you can fully understand the content.

This is a great book! It's a true story about the war. World War I. The soldiers stopped fighting on Christmas Day and played football. It was a moment of peace and fun in a very sad war.

I enjoyed this book because I learnt about the first world war and what it must have been like for the soldiers in the trenches. It was about football but it was a very sad book especially at the end. However football brought people together even in a war.

I like reading about the war and how everyone can be friends. I found it really safe when the solider dies.
