The Ironwood Tree
Holly Black, Tony DiTerlizzi
First a pack vile, smelly goblins snatch Simon. Then a band of elves try to entrap Jared. Why is the entire faerie world so eager to get their hands on Spiderwick’s Guide? And will the Grace kids be left alone, now that the Guide has mysteriously disappeared? Don’t count on it. At school, someone is running around pretending to be Jared, and it’s not Simon. To make matters worse, now Mallory has disappeared and something foul in the water is killing off all the plants and animals for miles around. Clues point to the old abandoned quarry, just outside of town, where there is news that a creature with plans to rule the world has offered them a gift to join with him…he’s given them a queen.

Really good series! I love how short and sweet they are, but at the same time, make sense together!

I am in awe of these books. They are just so well writing that these are some of my most favourite books. I love it how that it seems so realistic. It makes me think that there is magic all around even if you don’t believe in it. I love how that the children just moved in how thay describe it “a dozen shacks” and now they are on an amazing adventure taking me with them as well. My favourite character is Mallory as she is so confident. I would recommend this to anyone as hound as seven to about fifteen.

Magic, adventure and mythical beasts. This was so good and so scary. I had to read all the books. They are so much better than the film!
