The eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD 79 destroyed Pompeii, but some people must have survived. Taking this historical event as a starting point, this story tells of Tranio, an actor's son, and his friend Livia, the baker's daughter, as they witness the destruction of their beloved city.

This book was really interesting, all about Mount Vesuvius erupting in Pompeii. I gave this book only 3 stars because it didn't have many similes. I would people who like escape stories read the book.

It interests me because I am going to learn about Roman times. I liked it because I can learn more about Romans. It was a bit sad.

I read this because I’m doing a school project about the Romans, and I visited Pompeii earlier this year. It’s about a girl and a boy who lived in Pompeii and had to escape when the eruption happened. It made me think how scary it would have been for the people who lived there.

It was good to learn about escaping from Vesuvius and it was an exciting read because you learned about Pompeii and the eruption of Vesuvius.

This factual book interested me because why would you need to escape also from what? I would recommend this book to people who want to learn about history.

I hate the thought of living in a volcano eruption. Although I did like that there were many rains for people to discover.
