Appley Dapply's Nursery Rhymes: The original and authorized edition
Beatrix Potter
You know the old woman who lived in a shoe?
And had so many children she didn’t know what to do?
Beatrix Potter gathered material for a book of nursery rhymes for many years before Appley Dapply’s Nursery Rhymes was eventually published in 1917. Charming characters like Old Mr. Pricklepin, Diggory Diggory Delvet and, of course, Appley Dapply are brought to life with funny rhymes and beautiful watercolour illustrations.

Reviews
I quite like this fun and creative rhymes- I guess they’re really poems. My favourite one is the rhyme from page 20-23 about the old woman who lived in a shoe. I liked Beatrix potter’s thinking, and how she thought that the woman must’ve been a mouse to have lived in a shoe.

I read this book quickly because there are not many words in it. I like the guinea pig's rhyme best. I also like the guinea pig's hair style because it is very funny. I would recommend it to my family and friends.

This was a book of poems. It was funny because the mouse, Appley Dapply, went into someone’s cupboard looking for pie when she shouldn’t have. It was funny as well because she took the pie away. I liked it when Cotton Tail looked out of the door and found nobody there but a present of carrots.
