Millions
Frank Cottrell Boyce, Steven Lenton
Heart-achingly funny, touching and brilliantly clever, Millions is a fantastic adventure about two boys, one miracle and a million choices.
Brothers Damian and Anthony didn’t mean to get caught up in a botched train robbery. But what would you do if a massive bag of cash dropped from the sky and you had only a few days to spend it before it became worthless? Buy a million pizzas? End world poverty? Not such an easy decision, is it? The boys soon find out that being rich is a mug’s game. Not only is the clock ticking, the bank robbers want their money back . . .
This edition of Frank Cottrell-Boyce’s Carnegie Medal-winning Millions features fantastic cover artwork from the brilliant Steven Lenton.
Millions is a major film directed by Oscar-winner Danny Boyle.
Reviews

This was an average book because I didn’t really understand the things about the saint’s and it didn’t really make sense with the storyline. My favourite character was the teacher kind of. preventative building against against the boy. It was really factual and that was what it made it boring. I would recommend this for 10 to 13 years old.

a hilarious book based off a poor-ish kid finding himself swimming in money but only a few days to use it.

It was a very nice book but I think it would be better for children aged 6-8 . I liked Dorothy the most.

I found this book very strange but interesting. I really liked the character of Damian because he likes saints and I learnt the names of lots of saints. I think this book can be recommended.

Not the best book with some inappropriate bits not suitable for under 10s but a great story about st.s and a million pounds!

This book is a good fiction, I would recommend to my friends. It is about two brothers, Damian and Anthony, who suddenly find themselves very rich when a bag of money fell from the sky. However these boys have a problem as they have to spend all the money within a short time, with their mum being dead and so they cannot have advice from her. Damian, my favourite character is exciting and is always looking at historical events and linking them to the present. The boys can’t decide whether to buy a million pizzas or end world poverty? I would have choosen the second option. They are also in danger because the robbers who originally stole the money are searching for them and the money. Will they be safe?

This fiction book was about two brothers who witnessed robbers trying to take money from a train. But, the money got thrown out of the train and landed next to the brothers whilst they were playing. They had to decide what to do.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have a million pounds? This is the story about a boy named Damian, and his brother Anthony who find themselves among lots of money. Soon they begin to feel like millionaires. But money doesn't always solve problems...

Very very good book. I liked the concept. It was probably a little old for me. Age 9+ would suit.
Professor Flash Endeavour 25.11.2020

I liked the book millions of my favourite character was Anthony because he wanted to spend the money on cool things instead of giving it to the poor. My favourite bit is when Anthony and Damian are playing cash Jenga. I would suggest the book if you like money.

A funny fiction book about some boys who happen to retain a bag of money that has fallen apparently out of the sky. they have to workout which way to spend it best. I would recommend this to 8 - 11 year olds who love a laugh and a bit of disbelief.

"What would you do with a million pounds? by a thousand pizzas? Give it to charity?" Damian finds a sack full of money that he thinks has fallen out of the sky, and he and his brother Anthony find themselves rich. But there's one problem: the money is in pounds, and in seventeen days it will be converted into euros. They have just seventeen days to spend the money without being caught. This book is funny, sad, and exciting all at once. I would recommend it to age 9+.
