It was a good book for my topic in my next year at school.

The main character was a 21 year old boy who went into the war, and had a friend who was 19. They could fly a plane and he was the best at flying the plane and the 21 year old was the gunner. The 19 year old boy was the pilot, and they were up against the red baron, who shot down 15 of their own planes. They have never been taken down. This book is fiction, the 21 year old bouy had a little sister she wrote to him every week, and in one of the notes the 21 year old boy and the other boy got shot down and are prisoners. That was the end of the book. I would recommend this book because it was a bit confusing in little bits of the book i have rated it lower than my other books.

I liked it because everything was all in letters and the story was based on the life of a real person. I would recommend it to someone over 6.

I liked this book because I never really liked the topic of world war but this book has made me enjoy it more. I liked the way that the story was made of letters being sent from the main character to his younger sister. I loved this book and it was a great start to the summer reading challenge.

I liked this book because I am not usually interested in this kind of topic but I found this book really interesting because I liked the way Alfred (main character) wrote letters to his younger sister when he was at war. The drama in this story was very intriguing. I would really recommend this book to everybody whether you like the topic of world war or not. It was a great start to the reading challenge.

It was a really interesting book and it showed me a picture of WW1. My least favourite bit was when Alfred (the main character) was kept as prisoner of war.

This book was quite good. I liked the style of writing but I would be good if it was a bit longer. I would recommend this book for 7-9 year olds and I would like it if it was a bit more detailed. In this book you can tell Alfred was very close to his sister Lucy. I am disappointed that in the end they didn’t get home but that leaves room for a second book.

I didn't enjoy this book as the subject was a bit boring. I have read other books from this series which were must better and more interesting. This book was disappointing.

Not the best book. Quite slow but still quite good.

It was amazing! There was a lot of technical bits that wasn't actually in the war as well. I was really hooked, and didn't want to change book. When I got to the last letter, I was surprised that was it. I really think you should read it!

It is a wonderful book, and it is about a war fighter named Alfred, who writes 6 letters to his sister, Lucy. It gives you some facts about World War 1, and it also gives you fiction. It's like reading 2 books at once! I also think that it can make it feel like you're in World War 1, as it gives you so many facts.

This book was good because it was full of the letters he sent to his little sister. It was also good because it spoke about all the old WW1 war equipment and told us what it was called.

It is about an adventure through the war and about a family's survival. It is a big adventure for one small man.
