Because there's funny sprites that can change into bats that are trying to steal some gems and it takes a long time for sophie to actually save the world.

I liked all the creatures in this book such as the Bat Sprites, Spider Gnome, King Ug was a nasty person as he wanted to bring all the shadow creatures back, it was good to see how Sophie, Sam and Grandpa defeated the baddies with salt etc.
