Reviews

I liked this book because it was very interesting. The person i like the best is Gretel because she is very strong and attached to her brother

I think you should read this book because it is very exiting and quite gory and gross! And it links to a fairy tale and tells you what happens before the fairy tale and after the fairy tale! So it's very interesting to read!!!

I'd recommend this book to other children because this book shows a tale of Hansel and Gretel retold and most o f is to do with searching for a new family after what their father did that they can never forget.

It is a real adventurous story filled with horror and terrific blood activity. It is the tale of Hansel and Gretel, twin brother and sister, who leave their home due to certain reasons and begin their adventurous journey in the dark world. There is a movie Hansel & Gretel where they are witch hunters. Though in the book it is different, but still horrific. I would surely suggest my friends to read this book but not those who are scared of having nightmares. The writer himself have mentioned many times that not to read it unless you are brave heart and not to read this book to any kid aged below 10 as they would have pathetic nightmares. This is because there are some parts where the villains eat human flesh, so the writer said asked many times that if there is any child around or not.

The author Adam Gidwitz has remarkably combined both scary & humorous parts .I really liked the way in which he pauses in the middle of the story FOR EXPLAINING AN INCOMPREHENSIBLE PART as if he is telling a bedtime story. For example, just before the gory parts he warns everyone and tells the children to go to bed at that very moment.A VERY GOOD AND CREATIVE IDEA!!!!!!!

A really scary book of TRUE fairy tails! Grown-ups told these stories in a way so children wouldn't be scared! But children love being scared to a limit!!!

it is quite a gory book but it is based on the weel-known tale of hansel and gretel but this time, giving all the background information and how hansel and gretel become king and queen of the land at the end of the story!
