Waiting for Anya
Michael Morpurgo, M.B.E.
It is World War II and Jo stumbles on a dangerous secret: Jewish children are being smuggled away from the Nazis, close to his mountain village in Spain. Now, German soldiers have been stationed at the border. Jo must get word to his friends that the children are trapped. The slightest mistake could cost them their lives.

Waiting for Anya is a very fascinating book about a boy named Jo who found out that Germans were taking away innocent Jewish children into concentration camps. Every one in the village wants to stop this. I didn't like the fact that the book takes place during the second world war. My favourite character is Jo because he is curious, brave and smart. I would recommend this book.

My favourite character was Jo. My favourite part was when Jo saw all the Jews in the cave and when the war was over and he met Anya.

Another war time favourite for me from Michael Morpurgo. High suspense. My favourite character is Benjamin, who sadly also got captured. Very good book, I can definitely recommend this one.

In my opinion, it was a nice read ending with a tradgety. It was a mix of fun, suspense and sadness. I would recommend it for people aged 8+ as it has around 190 pages.

It is a story about Jewish Children who are being snuggled away from the Nazis. I have read other Michael Morpurgo books and am very interested in the Second World War so this was fantastic.

This is a good book, but it goes on for a bit without much action. Michael Morpurgo is a good author, but there is a sad part.

I thought this book was phenomenal because I learnt new vocabulary. It interested me because when Benjamin and Anya were running away from the enemy planes they decided to get separated, while looking for shelter. I would recommend this book to someone due to the fact of it being a great story. in my opinion, i thought the book wasn't very very factual
