"A true genius . . . Roald Dahl is my hero" David Walliams Matilda's parents have called her some terrible things, but the truth is she's a genius and they're the stupid ones. Underestimating Matilda proves to be a big mistake as they, along with her spiteful headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, soon find out when Matilda discovers she has a very special power.

I liked the book because it was so good.I felt so sorry for Matilda when somebody shouted at her but she was brave enough to think of a plan to save her teacher.I will reckommend this book to 7+ children because it can be too scary to younger children.

This was the hardest book I have read and took me two weeks reading a chapter a night. I loved it!!!! I found the trunchbull character funny but mean and I liked Bruce bogtrotter too. This book also had colour pictures in it which broke the text up and made the read even more enjoyable. Recommend anyone to read this book.

I enjoyed reading Matilda as I have watched the movie so it's unique how the have similarities but are different. I liked both the book and the movie and would recommend this book to others. My favourite character is Bruce Boggtrotter as I found him funny.
