Danger, fun, and mystery. I love the suspense in some of the entire book. You can't read this book, put it down, and not wonder what happens next. Nubia is my favourite character with Flavia coming next. 500,000/50

The use of multiple languages in this book was a little confusing. It might have made more sense if I had read Book 1 first.

It was a thriller although the ending was a bit disappointing because one of the characters didn't return to her family. I learnt a bit more about the Romans.

Mysterious, funny and action-packed I liked this book. It is Jonathan's birthday, but he discovered his uncle is an assassin, at least that is what people think!

I enjoyed finding out a 'known assassin' was actually trying to help people from being killed by assassins. I liked finding out more about Rome and about assassins. I am trying to read all the books in the series (in order!).

There are Deadly Assassins on loose. Simeon, Jonathon's uncle, is thought to be an assassin. Can the group of detectives clear his name and prevent Jonathon's Mother, Susannah, from being assanated. This a daring adventure!

The is book is colossal! It is exciting because there are three assassins and one of them is Uncle Simon. One assassin get killed in front of the Emperor and the detectives, another gets caught climbing over a wall and the third gets his eyes gauged out and big toes chopped off which was a Roman punishment. The assassins are trying,s to kill jonhtns mother who went missing 10 years ago. I recommend it for age 7-9 because it is too complicated for younger kid,s.
