The second action-packed chiller in the supernatural series from bestselling author, Anthony Horowitz.

After his experiences at Raven’s Gate, fourteen-year-old Matt Freeman thinks his days of battling evil are over. But he is pulled into another horrifying adventure when he discovers a second gate exists. Matt and his friend Richard travel to Peru and, assisted by a secret organization known as the Nexus, follow a series of clues to the gate’s whereabouts. But there is a traitor in the Nexus… Richard is kidnapped. Matt manages to escape with the help of Pablo, a local boy. The pair travel to the Nazca desert and Matt realizes the horrifying truth: the Nazca lines are the second gate – it is about to open. But, this time, will he have the strength to prevent it?

It has really good action. Matt's character is the best because it shows his loyalty. I would recommend it to someone else.

A nice fiction read. No Spoilers apart from the fact that they meet someone called Pedro, who is important.

I thought that this book was an amazing addition to the collection of the power of five as it had double the action and funny characters. Matt finds another one of the five and that’s when things start to go wrong as the Old Ones (the villains of the story) break out of the gate. I would say 13 years and older could read this as it has some disturbing content.

I really enjoyed this book as it is the second book of the power of five. I have already read the first. Matt Freeman has already defeated the Old Ones at Ravens Gate, but in Peru a second gate is about to open. Can he get there in time? Can he defeat the Old Ones again? Will he need help? I loved this book but I think I preferred the first. I recommend it to older readers.
