This title contains fascinating facts about Bill the Conquerer and his bully boys who battled at Hastings, stormed around Europe and joined the Crusades. There are tales of limb-chopping, terribly tortured saints and you can find out what ""really"" happened in 1066.

It is a great book all about the Normans. It teaches at the same times as making witty jokes and funny humour. It can also be a bit brutal though!

I liked it a lot but there were some really horrible parts in it.

Horribly good! I like fact books and learning about other times! I think other people would like them - they are funny too. I met the illustrator, Martin Brown, in Weymouth library in February.

I only give 3 stars to this book because I think it's a little bit hard to understand and there are so many facts that I can't remember all of them. An interesting fact was that monks are only allowed to eat simple foods. I wouln't recommend this book because it's hard to remember all of the facts in it.

It is a very funny book but it still tells you a lot about the Normans too.
