Samuel Blink is the hero of this story, but he doesn't know it yet. Right now, he and his sister Martha are in the back of his parents car. He has no idea a giant log is about to fall from the sky and change his life forever. He hasn't the slightest clue Martha will disappear into Shadow Forest. It is a forest where people who enter never return.

I liked this book because it involves monsters. I would recommend this to my friends. This is a fiction book and that is the type of books I like.

This is a good book,very exiting with unexpected things happening every other page! I liked Martha and the shadow witch best.

This is a book about a boy called Samuel Blink and his sister Martha coming to live with his Aunt Eda after their parents got crushed by a log in a car, but Samuel is very tempted to go into the forest next to their house that Aunt Eda has forbidden him to go in. My favourite character is the Truth Pixie because he tries to poison anybody who walks past her house with soup with a leaf called a hewlip leaf which blows your head off, literally! His only weakness is: He can't lie! My favourite part is when Ibsen (Aunt Eda's dog) becomes Uncle Henrik (Aunt Eda's long lost husband) and turns out he was the dog after all! I wouldn't recommend this book for younger readers as it is quite scary!

If you love mythical creatures this book is for you. An amazing first book by Matt Haig. It has an amazing storyline and will get you on the end of your chair.

I like this book because there is never a boring moment and recommend it for older readers. It is interesting and it feels as though you are in it when you read it.

This book is amazing with funny bits and a few scary ones too. Characters vary from a normal family of humans to the family of trolls with one eyeball between them. One specifically gory character would be the truth pixie with its delicious but deadly brain exploding hewlip soup.

I loved this book so much that I literally couldn't put it down! It is a book full of mythical creatures like pixies, trolls and witches! It was very exciting and it made me read on. It has a great storyline and I would definitely recommend this book! However, it is gruesome in parts, so I would say it should be the age group 11 and upward. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Another page-turner. An exciting action book right from the very first page. However, I would have liked to have known more about the characters.

I think you should read this book because I liked all the details and the book has lots of interesting pictures and good descriptions. Overall I thought that it was creepy and quite strange.

its a very mystical and mysterious book with lots of different creatures you would enjoy reading this book if you like adventures. I think that it was confusing keeping track of what every creature looked like but nevertheless it was very cleverly written.
