Spring-Heeled Jack
Philip Pullman, Oxford Fine Art Ltd
Deep in the murkiest back streets of old London town, three children are escaping from an orphanage. But lurking in the fog, watching Rose, Lily and Ned, is a king among villains – Mack the Knife!
A dreadful fate looks certain until, from out of nowhere, a figure with glowing, red eyes appears. He leaps through the air like a firework – it’s Spring-Heeled Jack, scourge of evil-doers!

My favorite character is Mack the knife because he’s the kidnapper and he’s the villain

This wasn’t my favourite book, but it was still cool that it had a superhero in it.

I really enjoyed how the book was a mixture between cartoon strip and normal writing. It was fun voicing all the characters good and bad.

I absolutely reccomend this book! Not only is it fun to read with fantastic twists, it also includes comics in it. It's about 3 orphans trying to escape their orphanage and go to America, it's just amazing...and so is Phillip Pullman - the creator of 'His Dark Materials'. I reccomend this book for ages 10-13 years old. Great book! 4 stars!

I recommend this book for children in primary school because it has a mythical creature in but it is suitable for all ages

This novel is about three siblings who escape an orphanage and plan to go to America. But the youngest, Little Ned, gets captured by London's biggest crime boss: Mack the Knife! Then one of the girls gets taken back by the orphanage so the hero Spring-Heeled Jack has to save the day. In the end they find there long lost father and live happily ever after.
