The Wolves Of Willoughby Chase
Joan Aiken
Even the wolves that surround the great house of Willoughby Chase are not as cruel and merciless as the evil Miss Slighcarp. So when Bonnie and Sylvia Green are left in her neglectful care, they must use all their wits to survive. The first title in the now classic ""Willoughby Chase"" saga is set in 1832 in a period of English history that never happened. King James III is on the throne and a newly opened Channel Tunnel gives access to packs of ravaging wolves…
Reviews
I loved this book. I couldn't get enough of it. My favourite character is Bonnie because she is daring, kind and if Sylvia is sad or alone she always comes to comfort her no matter the circumstances or punishment.

I loved this book! The story line is so intriguing and it sucks you in. I cried at Miss Slighcarp’s cruelty and laughed at Bonnie and Sylvia’s tricks. This book would be great for anyone wanting a book that is Victorian, mischievous, about orphans but has a happy ending. Five stars!
