The perfect follow-on series after the Famous Five and Secret Seven, I started reading Swallows and Amazons by Arthur Ransome. My favourite character so far is Roger, ship’s boy.

I thought that this book was very interesting at times, but sometimes quite boring. It is quite an old fashioned style so if you like that, you should read it.

I really liked the bit where the Swallows and Amazons decided to declare war on Captain Flint (who is the Amazons' uncle). My favourite characters are the Amazons because I like the things Captain Nancy (Ruth) says.

I really liked this book. My dad recommended it and though I wasn’t sure what to expect, I loved the adventure it took me on especially good for the school holidays! Titty was really brave. I would definitely recommend it!

I liked the part when the Swallows and the Amazons became friends - they were enemies at first. They could be considered as frenemies. Mainly, I liked the adventures that the Swallows and the Amazons go on.
