A tale with twists about a isolated young girl named charity Delafield, who has grown 12 long years ( since she was born ) without a mother and later to find that her mother has been isolated in the same abode since, due to a terrible mistake Charity's father committed. I LOVED THIS BOOK!!! I'd really recommend this book to any girls who like a bit of a spook. This book is great because it always keeps you in suspense and isn't always soppy like a love story can be. It's adventurous and is great for people who like detective stories.

If you love mysteries & magic you'll love this book! A detective story following a young girl looking for her mother. A definite 5 stars from me! I wouldn't say its for girls or boys as Charity is not much of a girly girl and her father and friend are boys too. Reading this book, I got the shivers a few times but nothing is too scary. As I love to write stories it has inspired me to write a lot of new stories. Ian Beck is a fantastic author and I am looking forward to reading some more of his books. READ THIS BOOK, IT IS AMAZING!!!

This book was really amazing and I was so surprised that it didn't have any horror in it. It was about a girl called Charity and she discovered what happened to her mum. It was really adventurous and I think you should read this book if you are 9 and over and love a bit of mystery, adventure and spooks.
