Friendship According to Humphrey
Betty G. Birney, Jason Chapman
Dear Friends,
When Og the Frog came to live in Room 26, I felt a little jealous. Still, I tried to be welcoming but I soon discovered that it’s HARD-HARD-HARD to make friends with a lumpy, bumpy frog!
Then I found out that my fellow students were having problems with their friends, too. A.J. and Garth had to deal with a bully named Mean Martin Bean. Heidi and Gail had a terrible argument, and Miranda-Golden had a new stepsister who wasn’t nice at all. Then there was the Poetry Festival, the magic show and the snowstorm! How could one small hamster solve all those problems?
Luckily, I wrote the whole story in my notebook so you could share my adventures.
Your friend to the end,
Humphrey
Reviews

This book was great, it teaches you not to judge a book by its cover. Humphrey has to deal with a challenging situation but learns to deal with it in a positive way. Humphrey is a cute, funny and intelligent character.. I recommend this book, it’s a fun read that I read quickly!

This one puts Humphrey into an occasion when they put a class frog in there so he has to deal with the fact that not everyone is paying attention to him. Some like the frog more than him.

Not recommended for early readers. I enjoyed it

People that love hamsters will love this book because it is a funny story about a hamster and a frog who cannot get along. i gave it 3/10 because I don't really like hamsters; they wriggle and tickle too much when you hold them, so I didn't really enjoy reading a book with a hamster as the main character.

This book is the second book in the Humphrey series. On the first day of school Og the Frog arrives in Humphrey's classroom as a new pet and Humphrey feels jealous because all the attention is on Og. Humphrey then realises that some of his classmates are having friendship issues, including two boys having to deal with a bully, two girls falling out and even one girl having to deal with a horrid stepsister. The hamster helps the children deal with all of these issues. Read the book to find out if they are resolved.

It was boring and it didn't have much detail. I couldn't use my imagination properly. It didn't make sense that much. I think a 2 year old should read this.

It was a great book and jam packed with adventure. I thing the age for this book is 7-10.
