Sebastian Darke has the world on his narrow shoulders. The son of a human father and an elvish mother, he is desperately trying to become the family breadwinner and has taken on his late father’s job – celebrated jester, Prince of Fools. Trouble is, Sebastian can’t tell a joke to save his life. Dressed in his father’s clothes and accompanied by his talking (and endlessly complaining) buffalo, Max, he sets off for the fabled city of Keladon, where he hopes to be appointed court jester to King Septimus. On the way he encounters a tiny but powerful warrior called Cornelius; the beautiful Princess Kerin; blood-thirsty Brigands and enough perils to make him wonder why he ever decided to leave home. I would definitely recommend this! A thrilling tale of adventure and friendship almost certain to live in the hearts of any fantasy lover . My favourite character was Cornelius Drummel , a small but strategic warrior his cunning plans are always of a high quality

It's a really good book it's actually about boy whose dad is a human and his mother is an elf. His father unfortunately passes away and he was a jester and know Sebastian Darke hose to take up the job of becoming a jester as that is there only option really because they are in the need of money. So he decided to head over to keladon to become a jester for the king but the king is evil. On his way Sebastian meets wonderful friends alongside princess Kerin who is to become the next princess. But what happens next?? Sebastian does fall in love with but what about the evil king who is princess Kerin uncle.what happens to the evil uncle king and what did he do to princess Kerins parents???
