Lily Alone
Jacqueline Wilson, Nick Sharratt
Lily isn't home ALONE - but she sort of wishes she was; looking after her three younger siblings is a lot of responsibility. When Mum goes off on holiday with her new boyfriend and her stepdad fails to show up, Lily is determined to keep the family together and show they can cope without any grown-ups. But taking care of 6-year-old twins, her 3-year-old sister and the family's flat feels overwhelming and Lily is worried that school or social services might discover their situation and break up the family. What could be better than to take all the little ones for a camping adventure in the park? Plenty of space to run about, no carpet to vacuum, and surely no chance anyone will guess they're there . . .

Loved the twist when they had to stay in the park. My favourite character was Bliss. She was gentle but lovely and calm

This is now my 2nd favourite book, after one J have got at my house. I absolutely loved it. I liked All of them best because everyone that was mentioned had a really interesting personality. Most people mention were funny, and I don't let my family off the jokes I read for weeks. I was at some points really excited, and wished I could read ahead because it was so entertaining. The 4 main characters made me excited with dverything they said. Their mum was so kind to Lilly and the other kiss at the start, but went pretty mean when she left them, Lilly was only eleven and actually had the same quality as her own mum. My eleven year old brother could never look after me like that. Baxter was funny and so daring, I could of wrote a never ending biography about him. Bliss was so sweet and even made a card for Lilly when she fell out the tree. Finnay Pixie was so funny how she copied everyone. My favourite joke was when old Kath told Baxter not to wee in the lifts, and he said he would wee on her instead. Reading that book was just as good as watching TV. Jacqueline Wilson is my joined favourite author in the whole world, and I also want to have her job when I am older.

Lily Alone was a very interesting read. It was really well written as a result of this I grew to love every single one of Lily's crazy brothers and sisters. I found lots of bits really funny and enjoyable but at the end I cried as I couldn't bare to see Lily and her brothers and sisters split up and put in children's homes.
