This is a book to made to tell the world how Jews were massacred in great numbers, and how the soldiers never told others what's happening, leading to this story of a commander's son to befriend a Jew. It's the perfect book for people who like fiction and history.

I like the cliffhanger at the end, it shows me how you can make new friends, even if you left one place.

It is very good but it's quite sad it is a fictional story based on the war My favourite character in this book is Bruno because he made friends with Shmuel and helped him nearly every day I would recommend this book to people who can cope with the parts of the book that can be a bit sad I wouldn't recommend it to young children

I had previously watched the movie and was expecting a heart-wrenching story, however, felt the book was lacking in this area. Much of the sensitive content found in the film is only touched upon in the book, making the book more suitable for children, however, it is a book that should be read by older children because of the nature of the story. It was a good read and did have me shedding a tear by the end but probably not a book I would recommend often.

This book is one of the best books I have read. It is such a sad story. Since this book was fiction my favourite character is Maria ( the house maid ). I would definitely recommend this amazing book to someone else because this book gives you a lot of information for what happened in ww2 and how the Germans treated the Jews.

This is a story about a boy called Bruno. His father is the comandant who worked for Hitler during WW2. The book shows the story of Bruno and his Best Friend For Life, Shmuel who was a jew on the other side of the fence at Out-With.

This is one of my all time favourite books and has such a touching storyline. My favourite characters were definitely Bruno and Shmuel as they both went through a lot and faced several challenges together as the story when on. The plot of this book is quite sad so I would rate it 11+. I would DEFINITELY give this book a 5 stars and even more as it it one of the best books I have ever read!

I think it was sad because a boy had to move house close to where his father works and when he is having a walk he saw a boy wearing striped pyjamas and he looked hungry and sad so the other boy got him some food and said to the boy how about you get me a pair of those pyjamas and i can play with you so that is what he did. That is my favourite part of the story

i found this book quite sad but it taught me a bit more about the Holocaust. plus this book had a really good relationship between two characters, Shmuel and Bruno.
