I really enjoyed this book as I absolutely love horses and reading animal adventure stories. In this story Charlie has outgrown her old pony Pirate but can't bear to part with him and unfortunately isn't getting along with her new horse called Phantom. After falling off Phantom, her parents say she isn't allowed to ride him anymore and has to go back to his last home. When adverts for loaning Pirate start going missing, Hettie the sheep keeps getting loose and being found on the yard, Mia's grooming kit has horse hairs in it even though none of the girls have used it. Strange things are going on at Blackberry Farm and The Pony Detectives are on the case! Things become stranger when they ride to the local horse rescue and get told by Fran Hope, that pictures of Fable (a horse who died a long time ago) have started disappearing at the same time as Caitlin (Fable's owner) dies in Ireland. By the end of the book all the clues come together and The Pony Detectives find out that all the mysteries are part of the same case. Together are they able to find a home for Pirate, keep Phantom who everything thinks is a dangerous horse and make Neve who keeps trying to run away happy? Read this exciting book to find out the very happy ending! I feel this is a great book for all horse and animal loving readers who enjoy being gripped into an amazing read.

I would recommend this book because it was about horses. My favourite character in this book was Alice because she was a really good showjumper. My favourite horse in the book was Scout, Alice's horse.

This is a great book. I would recommend this book to children who enjoy reading mystery and adventure books. This book is about a horse who is having trouble settling in with its new owner (Charlie). When a mysterious girl called Neve turns up. When the Pony Detectives go on a hack they find a photo/ After discovering where the picture was taken they go and ask an old friend about it. They then discover a devastating story. This is a great book.
