War Dog
Chris Ryan
Did you ever think that a dog could save someone’s life? I’m living proof that it can happen. My name’s Jamie, and I want to tell you about something that happened to me last summer. You were probably on your school holidays. I was in Afghanistan, fighting the Taliban. I lost my leg doing it. But I can live with that. Because if it wasn’t for a brave sniffer dog and his handler, I’d have lost a whole lot more…
Told through the eyes of Jamie, an amputee veteran, WAR DOG is the story of Lance Corporal Sam Maguire, part of a bomb disposal squad in Afghanistan, and the springer spaniel sniffer dog Charlie who becomes his best friend.

It was a factual book, telling the story of Charlie. It was interesting because it was about modern wars. A sad story, but I would recommend it!

This a book about a man and his dog and how useful and helpful the dog was to his owner. The dog became a hero in his own right.

This book will tell you all about the war in Afghanistan and how brave the 'War Dogs' were. I liked it when everyone was praying for Doug. Unfortunately Doug was killed. I really would like all the soldiers in Afghanistan to get home safely.
