I like the story of how people can get commmeupance in the end, but what made me give it 4 stars is that there were tricky bits I can't understand.

I quite liked this play but I wouldn't recommend it to everyone because it involves some violence. My favourite character was King Duncan because he was kind. Unfortunately, Macbeth killed him in Act 2 Scene 2.

I really enjoyed this playscript, and it's context and the way it was set out. In this book, its about 3 witches who told Macbeth that he would be The King of Scotland. His wife encouraged him to kill the reigning King in order for her to become Queen. I recommend this book to 10/11 - 14

The tragedy of Macbeth is written by William Shakespeare and is a fictional story. The story is about a power hungry Scottish Lord Macbeth and his Lady who plot to kill the Scottish King Duncan. After Macbeth ascends to the throne he is consumed by guilt which eventually leads to his doom. This is a good book to help understand the storyline when we have Shakespeare drama plays in school.

Macbeth retold by Tony Bradman is a really good version of the famous story. It has lovely pictures at the start of chapters and uses Shakespeare's words in an easy to read way. It is a fairly detailed version of the story that could be hard to understand for younger children, but I found it a great step up from other simpler versions. Macbeth is set in Scotland hundreds of years ago. After Macbeth and his friend meet three witches called the wierd sisters who tell them Macbeth will be king, but that is not possible unless he and his wife are prepared to kill. Macbeth is a great book for children about 9+ and this is a really good way to start reading Shakespeare's classic plays.

I thought this book was interesting and had lots of details about Macbeth life. He tried to kill everyone that was in his way so that he could become king. I liked king Duncan of Scotland because he was a very kind and generous person. yes, i would recommend this book.

Even though it is quite gory, Macbeth has a brilliant and exciting plot. The play explores the succession of kings and what people will do to gain power. Macbeth’s ambition gets the better of him and he murders to become king. Then he has to commit more murders to cover up what he has done. In the end he is defeated. The play is telling us that too much ambition can lead to a person’s downfall. This is the first Shakespeare play I have read in Shakespeare’s original language. I can’t wait to read some more.
