Reviews

This book provided some really funny and factful information all about the first world war. Their representation and small explained details led to a really good information guide about WWI. I would recommend this book to people who like learning things in a more fun way.

Interesting, factual and fun. The year of the mud was the best bit and I liked the cartoons

I absolutely loved this book. It is factual and I found it very interesting. I like things to do with the army, I think that’s why i really enjoyed it. It’s quite a long book but I have read longer. I would definitely recommend this book to everybody. Reading the book some of the men were very brave but some were really dumb and stupid. My favourite part was participating in the quiz’s. The quiz’s were great fun and also had some very interesting and unusual facts. This is my favourite book so far.

Horribly good! I like fact books and learning about other times! I think other people would like them - they are funny too. I met the illustrator, Martin Brown, in Weymouth library in February.

Full of facts to help with my next topic.

I thought this was a good book because firstly there were interesting facts and they added humour to them. The gags were funny and I read that there was an English soldier who was seventy and he fought in the anglo-zulu war and the first world war. It interested me because I wanted to know who (which country) and why the war started. I would recommend it to someone if they like war history and gags in the books.

In the 25th of December, Christmas Day all fighting stopped and friendly football matches were played. So strange but so great. Also in the Gallipoli battle all the soldiers had an army of live infesting them . Disgusting
