This book really gave me insight to wha life was like in the Victorian period. Although it was fiction, everything about it seemed real; it was like I was actually experiencing all that had happened. It interested me because I love reading diary entries and this book has an air about it where the writer has completely lost themselves in the book. I would definitely recommend it to anyone, even if they weren’t particularly interested in life in the Victorian times. Who knows, they might even find a new favourite book!

It is an amazing story full of Rosie Chubb's mischievous antics. It had a happy ending and I would recommend it to anybody who takes an interest in history.

It was a really good book. Even if it seemed like a real diary from a real Victorian child, it is actually a fiction story! I would reccomend this book to everyone who needs to learn about the Victorians as this is a fun way to go back in time. My favourite character was Rosie Chubbs, who is the mischevious workhous girl who meets with the main character, Edith.

If you like the Victorians you'll definitely like this! It's about the harsh and horrible conditions in a workhouse (a little hint in the name!!). It really fascinates me it's amazing!!!
